Introducing Netz Energy

Independent energy engineering and advisory for the UAE, KSA and the Gulf

When the adviser on a chiller replacement or a rooftop PV system also sells the equipment, the recommendation and the commission become hard to separate. Netz Energy exists to keep them apart.

  • No EPC commissions and no vendor representation
  • Evidence you can base an investment decision on
  • Gulf frameworks and international standards, applied to your assets
Why independence matters

Separating the recommendation from the sale

Energy decisions on buildings are capital decisions. A chiller plant, a BMS upgrade or a PV array commits budget and shapes operating costs for years. The quality of that decision depends on who prepared the analysis and what they stand to gain from it.

When advice is tied to supply

  • Options tend to narrow to what the adviser can deliver or resell
  • Sizing and scope can drift towards equipment rather than outcomes
  • Savings claims are hard to verify independently after installation
  • Finance teams receive a proposal, not a comparison

When advice is independent

  • Technologies and suppliers are compared on technical and financial merit
  • Measures are prioritised by cost, benefit and risk for your asset
  • Results are measured and verified against a documented baseline
  • You keep control of tendering, contractor selection and acceptance
What we do

Four areas of work across the asset lifecycle

Netz Energy serves asset owners, property managers, operations teams and finance across the UAE, KSA and the wider Gulf, from first measurement to long-term decarbonisation strategy.

01

Measure and verify

Metering engineering and instrumentation across power, HVAC, water and gas. Engineering-led energy audits turned into prioritised Energy Conservation Measures with cost-benefit analysis. Independent measurement and verification based on IPMVP to quantify the savings actually achieved after a retrofit.

  • Metering plans
  • Energy audits
  • IPMVP M&V
  • Energy simulation
02

Perform and comply

BACS audits referenced to EN ISO 52120, commissioning and retro-commissioning, ISO 50001 energy management systems and HVAC optimisation for hot climates, including chiller plant optimisation, district cooling integration and refrigerant transition.

  • BACS / BMS
  • Retro-Cx
  • ISO 50001
  • HVAC optimisation
03

Design and deliver

Rooftop and carport PV feasibility and engineering, from site assessment, sizing and grid-connection studies through to supervision. EV charging infrastructure design. Owner's engineering: independent technical representation during design, tendering, construction and commissioning.

  • PV feasibility
  • EVCI design
  • Owner's engineer
04

Decarbonise portfolios

Multi-year, multi-site decarbonisation roadmaps aligned with UAE Net Zero 2050: Scope 1, 2 and 3 baselines, target-setting, scenario modelling and phased action plans. Carbon reporting advisory against GRI, TCFD, CDP and SBTi that holds up to scrutiny.

  • Roadmaps
  • Energy master plan
  • Carbon reporting
Frameworks we work with

Gulf regulation and international standards

Our recommendations are referenced to the frameworks your auditors, lenders, certifiers and regulators already recognise.

Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024

The UAE federal framework on emissions reporting and reduction, which we reference when preparing baselines and reduction plans.

Estidama, Mostadam, RSB

Local sustainability rating and regulatory frameworks across Abu Dhabi, KSA and Dubai.

ISO 50001

Energy management systems: policy, objectives, management review and continual improvement.

EN ISO 52120

Impact of building automation and control systems on energy performance.

IPMVP

The international protocol for measuring and verifying energy savings, Options A, B, C and D.

ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, 55

Energy performance, ventilation and thermal comfort references for audits and retro-commissioning.

How an engagement works

From data to a decision you can defend

  1. Establish the baseline

We start from measured data: utility records, metering, BMS trends and site surveys. Where data is missing, we specify the instrumentation needed to close the gap.

  2. Compare options on their merits

Measures are assessed for technical feasibility, CAPEX, OPEX impact, payback and risk. Because we sell no equipment, every viable option stays on the table.

  3. Support delivery as your representative

We can prepare specifications, review tenders and supervise works on your behalf, so contractors are held to the scope and performance you approved.

  4. Measure and verify the outcome

Savings are verified against the baseline using IPMVP, giving finance and sustainability teams figures they can report with confidence.

Who we work with

For the people who own, run and finance buildings

Asset Managers

Portfolio-level visibility on energy performance, CAPEX phasing and the levers that protect asset value.

CFOs

Independent cost-benefit analysis of prioritised measures and savings verified against a documented baseline.

Sustainability Directors

Credible baselines, reduction plans and carbon reporting aligned with recognised frameworks.

Facility Managers

Practical findings on HVAC, controls and commissioning that translate into day-to-day operating improvements.

Energy Managers

Metering plans, ISO 50001 structure and M&V methods that make performance measurable over time.

Owner Representatives

Independent technical representation through design, tendering, construction and commissioning.

Talk to an advisor

Weighing an energy decision on an asset or a portfolio?

Share a few details about your building or portfolio and the decision in front of you. An advisor will come back to you to discuss scope, available data and the most useful next step.

Typical starting points include:

  • A chiller replacement or HVAC retrofit under review
  • A rooftop or carport PV proposal that needs an independent check
  • BMS performance, commissioning or retro-commissioning questions
  • An ISO 50001 or certification project
  • Emissions reporting and a reduction plan under Decree-Law 11/2024
  • A multi-site decarbonisation roadmap

In the coming weeks we will also share practical notes on these topics, grounded in Gulf frameworks and international standards.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does "vendor-neutral" mean in practice?

We take no EPC commissions, receive no referral fees and represent no equipment manufacturer or installer. Our fees come from our clients only, so our recommendations are not linked to what gets purchased.

Can you still help once we have chosen a contractor?

Yes. As owner's engineer we can review designs, check submittals, supervise works and witness commissioning on your behalf, and then verify performance after handover.

Where do you work?

We are based in Dubai and serve clients across the UAE, KSA and the wider Gulf.

Which standards do you apply?

We work with local frameworks such as Estidama, Mostadam, RSB and Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024, together with international references including ISO 50001, EN ISO 52120, IPMVP and ASHRAE standards.

Do you work on single buildings or only portfolios?

Both. Some engagements focus on one plant room or one PV proposal; others cover multi-site baselines, energy master plans and decarbonisation roadmaps.

Who is behind Netz Energy?

Netz Energy is the Gulf arm of a French energy and environmental engineering group.
