Energy, daylight and CFD airflow simulation with solar and shading studies: for design optimization under UAE climate conditions.

Overview

Energy modelling using IES-VE, DesignBuilder or EnergyPlus compares design and retrofit scenarios using local climate inputs and documented operating assumptions. Existing-building models can be calibrated where suitable measured data is available.

How the engagement works

  1. Set the modelling question: compare design options, diagnose an existing building or assess a proposed retrofit.
  2. Represent geometry, envelope, HVAC, operating schedules and local weather with explicit input assumptions.
  3. Compare scenarios consistently, test sensitive assumptions and explain model limitations before recommending a design decision.

  • Architectural and MEP drawings, envelope specifications and intended occupancy schedules.
  • For existing buildings, utility data and operating records that can support calibration.

Can a model predict the exact future bill?

No. A model estimates performance for specified weather and operating assumptions. We report these assumptions and use scenarios to show how changes in use affect the outcome.

Can you support a building certification submission?

We can prepare modelling evidence within an agreed assessment scope. The relevant assessor or certification body determines whether that evidence meets its requirements.
