Energy design and owner’s engineering for UAE developers

Evaluate energy design, lifecycle cost, solar and EV readiness, and commissioning for UAE developments before decisions become costly to change.

The decision to make

Development teams must translate an energy ambition into a design brief, tender scope and operating asset. Netz Energy provides independent technical support at the points where decisions become difficult to reverse: plant selection, envelope design, controls architecture, electrical capacity and handover acceptance. The work connects design assumptions to the needs of the future owner and operator.

Agree measurable requirements before comparing designs

Define intended use, occupancy, operating hours and comfort criteria before requesting an energy model. Compare options on consistent assumptions, including maintenance, replacement and utility costs. A model is a decision tool; its predicted consumption is not a guarantee of the future utility bill.

Use reviews at design milestones to track unresolved issues. Record which party owns each assumption and what evidence will be required at the next stage.

Resolve interfaces while there is room to change

PV, EV charging and building controls affect roof access, structure, switchgear, cabling and operating responsibilities. Test their fit against the whole project rather than selecting equipment in isolation. Confirm the project-specific authority and utility requirements with the appointed design team.

  • Compare design alternatives and lifecycle cost using the same reference case.
  • Reserve workable maintenance access, metering points and controls integration.
  • Plan electrical capacity and staged expansion for the intended charging demand.

Make performance part of acceptance

Write commissioning and functional testing into the procurement scope. Establish acceptance criteria, witness responsibilities, defect closure and operator training before practical completion. Carry unresolved seasonal tests into a documented follow-up plan so the operating team receives more than an equipment list.

What the engagement should deliver

  1. 01

An owner’s energy requirements brief and a record of design decisions.

  2. 02

Independent option reviews covering performance assumptions, lifecycle cost and interfaces.

  3. 03

A commissioning and handover framework with test evidence and open issues.
