How the engagement works
- Agree the owner's operating requirements and review design documents, asset condition and unresolved handover issues.
- Prepare functional tests covering normal operation, alarms, interlocks and representative load conditions.
- Record defects, verify corrective work and hand over test evidence and operating guidance to the facilities team.

- Design intent, commissioning records, equipment schedules and current control sequences.

What is the difference between commissioning and retro-commissioning?
Commissioning verifies new or modified systems against defined requirements. Retro-commissioning investigates and improves the operation of an existing building using its present condition and use.
Can testing take place in an occupied building?
Often yes, with a coordinated test plan. Some tests require out-of-hours access or temporary changes; these are agreed with the operator before work starts.
